SPCC plan required for agricultural producers
Beginning on November 10
th, 2011, the EPA is requiring farmers to have an oil spill prevention plan called an SPCC plan. This plan, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure, affects farms that store more than 1,320 gallons of oil and oil products in aboveground containers. Oil and oil products refers to any lube or hydraulic oil, as well as diesel fuel and gasoline, that is stored, transferred, used, or consumed on the farm.
