  • Grow/Finish Complete Feed Programs

WFS Feeds swine program has been developed over several years with research information from three major feed companies, universities, and ongoing customer trials. These sources provide us with the most recent research data and the key information for continuous program improvements. This is especially important with continued genetic changes and technological improvements.

The system is specifically designed to meet nutritional needs by providing the right fortification economically. The program is based upon multi-phases, split sex feeding, genetics, season, environment, feed intake, and other factors that determine nutrient requirements. The proper rations are developed and managed through the Swine Management System.

The updated Nutrition Management System utilizes higher levels of fat because most genetic sources are experiencing lower average daily feed intakes. Also, fat is currently very economical, which makes it cost effective in most operations. The return will depend on facility flow and other farm-specific situations. Three energy-nutrient programs will be available for the grow/finish phase of production to match the right nutrition for each farm and provide flexibility according to present ingredient prices.

    Sow Program

Increased sow productivity through genetic selection and management technologies has required improvement in nutrition management programs. The flexible program matches nutrition to the feed intake of the sow herd in both gestation and lactation.

Gestation – This is commonly the most overfed area of production. Overfeeding sows during this phase will significantly increase feed costs, reduce feed intake during the subsequent lactation, and impair mammary development.

Lactation – During lactation the sow is producing a large amount of milk, while her reproductive system is taking the first steps in the development of her next litter. The primary goal during this phase is to maximize nutrient intake or the sow will utilize body tissues, fat and muscle, to supply nutrients for milk production. Excessive mobilization of body tissue results in low milk production, smaller litter weights, delayed return to estrus, and smaller subsequent litter size.

The science of feeding sows has become more precise. New gestation and lactation programs target farm-specific feed intakes to achieve the proper grams per head per day for all nutrients. The fine-tuned program will help maximize sow performance.

Dietary Lysine Requirements & Adjustment Factors

The new programs will bring each phase of production up to the most modern levels of nutrition, based upon recent research information. Customized nutrition programs are available upon request. Please contact your nearest WFS representative for more details and to develop the best feeding system for your specific swine operation.

    PUSH™ Sow Feed

PUSH™ Sow Feed will help you get more pork per sow per year. PUSH sow feed is unique combination of nutrition technologies when fed to sows pre-farrowing through weaning, results in increased number of pigs weaned, heavier pigs at weaning, increased total litter weight, and more income per sow. In trial after trial, sows fed PUSH sow feed showed increases in their productivity with no detrimental impact on sow in the short-run or in the long-run.

How does PUSH™ sow feed work? The effect of the unique ingredients in PUSH sow feed is to improve the energy balance of the sow during lat gestation and lactation. The result is improved nutrient availability and/or utilization by the mammary gland in early lactation animals. If nutrient availability and utilization is improved, the potential to demonstrate increased mild production resulting in heavier litter weaning weights is improved. For more information on PUSH Sow Feed go to www.feedpush.com.
